We are accredited for providing Whole Building Air Leakage to assess the performance of the building envelope.
What is Whole Building Air Inflitration Testing?
Whole building air infiltration testing is designed to assess the level of ‘unintended’ air leakage in a building’s envelope i.e. external components that separate the indoor environment from the outdoor environment. For example:
- Walls
- Windows
- Other structural elements
- Doors
- Roofs
This type of testing is imperative to evaluate a building’s façade efficiency and performance.
In Abu Dhabi in particular, there is an increasing focus on environmental sustainability and energy conservation where codes and standards like LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and ESTIDAMA have made Whole Building Infiltration Testing more common. An efficient building envelope plays a crucial role in maximizing the efficiency of heating and cooling systems.
The same equipment is used for Clean Room Testing where high-value assets such as data storage are protected by gaseous fire protection systems. It is required that these spaces are checked for air leakage on an annual basis.
Why choose TBW for Whole Building Air Infiltration Testing
We have tested challenging enclosures successfully including multi storey buildings and large warehouse like structures such as airport terminals.
Our aim is to assist our clients in fully assessing the safety and weather performance of their building envelopes, whether residential or non-residential, whilst ensuring compliance with relevant safety codes and regulations.
