At TBW our expert qualified engineers and technicians provide industry-standard façade testing ensuring that your the installation meets the project performance requirements.
What is Hose Testing?
Hose testing involves spraying water in a prescribed way at the joints in a system as a check on whether the system is vulnerable to leakage. Although it does not confirm the performance in a quantitate manner, it is considered a practical tool to ensure the joints do not leak.
The Hose Test, as per AAMA 501.2-15 or CWCT Hose Test Section 9 should be employed periodically during construction as a check on workmanship.
Hose Testing Standards
There are 2 commonly used Hose Testing standards in façade site testing:
- AAMA 501.2-15
This standard was developed by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) which provides guidelines for performing a hose test to establish water penetration resistance of exterior glazed joints.
- CWCT Hose Test Section 9
This standard was developed by the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT) in the UK.
We are accredited to carry out both AAMA 501.2-15 and CWCT Hose Tests.
