About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about fire safety engineering, quality assurance, and professional development, with the ambition to grow into a subject-matter expert.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed technical evaluations and conformity assessment activities for fire-resistant doors, door sets, shutters, and associated hardware within the organization’s accreditation schemes.
• Develop, plan, and manage fire testing and certification programmes tailored to product performance requirements.
• Review, interpret, and assess fire-resistance test reports from global laboratories and ensure compliance with international standards,
• Review factory production control systems and participate in surveillance audits.
• Support the development of certification scheme rules, technical policies, and decision trees.
• Contribute to the creation of internal guidance notes, templates, and rationale documents.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in fire testing, passive fire protection, product certification, or conformity assessment.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, Fire, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• In-depth understanding of fire test standards (BS, EN, ISO, ASTM, NFPA, UL etc).
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
